In Malaysia, two military helicopters collided during training and crashed. All 10 people on board were killed, the Associated Press reported on Tuesday, April 23.
The helicopters are understood to be rehearsing at a naval base in the northern state of Perak in preparation for the Navy’s 90th anniversary celebrations next month.
“All victims were pronounced dead at the scene,” the Navy said in a statement.
The remains of the victims were taken to the hospital for identification. An investigation into the accident has begun.
There were seven crew members aboard the AW139 maritime helicopter, the Navy said. Three other crew members were in the Fennec helicopter, made by Airbus.
Local media reported that the AW139 crashed into a sports complex at the naval base, while the Fennec crashed into a nearby swimming pool.

Let’s remember that a few days ago two Japanese Navy helicopters with eight crew members on board fell into the Pacific Ocean. One of them was rescued, seven more are being sought. The helicopters conducted night anti-submarine training.
It was also reported that a military helicopter crashed in Cuba. Three officers were killed then.
