The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) exposed the rector of the UOC-MP church in the Khmelnytsky region, who praised Russian dictator Vladimir Putin to the faithful. The SBU reported this on its Telegram channel on Monday, April 22.
The service documented subversive activities on the part of the rector of the Shepetivka diocese of the UOC-MP in the Khmelnitsky region, who supported the aggressive war against Ukraine and incited religious hatred.

The attacker tried to undermine the socio-political situation in the region in favor of the aggressor country, which was confirmed by an analysis initiated by the SBU.
Based on the collected evidence, he was charged with suspicion under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:

violation of the equality of citizens depending on their race, nationality, region, religious belief and other characteristics (part 1 of article 161 of the Criminal Code);

justification, recognition as lawful, rejection of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants (part 1 of article 436-2 of the Criminal Code).
As the investigation continues, the attacker faces up to 5 years in prison.
Earlier, the media reported about the searches of the deputy chairman of the synodal department for external church relations of the UOC-MP, Archpriest Nikolai Danilevich.
