However, a catastrophe is not expected, although there will be “problems.” Such developments are expected in the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Kirill Budanov, stated this on April 22 in an interview with BBC Ukraine.
In our opinion, a rather difficult situation awaits us in the near future. But it is not catastrophic, this also needs to be understood. Armageddon will not happen, as many are now beginning to say. But there will be problems from mid-May,” he said.
Budanov noted that we are also talking about the situation at the front. According to him, the Russian invaders will use an all-encompassing approach. Therefore, according to intelligence estimates, it will be difficult in mid-May – early June.
Let us remind you that the American Institute for the Study of War believes that the Russian Federation may intensify military operations in Ukraine in the coming weeks. Analysts believe the enemy could still make significant operational gains in the coming weeks. It is possible that the Russian command may give priority to sectors of the front where the defense of the Ukrainian Armed Forces looks relatively unstable, especially to the west of Avdeevka, or areas where Russian troops are within reach of an operationally significant facility, for example, at Vremya Yar.
