Maximum electricity consumption is expected at 21:00. Energy workers are asking citizens to turn off powerful electrical appliances during this time.
As of Monday morning, there is still a power shortage in the Ukrainian energy system. Power outages for various reasons are occurring in eight regions, Ukrenergo reported on April 22.
So, due to bad weather, more than 60 settlements in Zaporozhye, Kirovograd, Poltava, Sumy and Chernigov regions were cut off.
For other reasons, another 414 communities were without electricity in the morning. In particular, due to the fighting, there were power outages in the regions of Dnepropetrovsk, Donetsk, Sumy and Kharkov.
Meanwhile, due to the colder weather, electricity consumption continues to increase. Today, as of 9:30 am, the level of consumption is 4.7% higher than the same time on Friday, April 19. And yesterday evening’s high is almost 6% higher than last Sunday’s high of April 14th.
“Maximum consumption is expected at 21:00. Please turn off powerful electrical appliances during this time,” energy workers told citizens.
According to Ukrenergo, there will be a power shortage in the energy system throughout the day today. Due to damage caused by Russian missile attacks, power plants are unable to produce enough electricity to meet growing demand.
Therefore, consumption restrictions for industrial consumers in Krivoy Rog continue to apply around the clock. In the morning, consumption restrictions apply in the Kharkov region. About 224 thousand household consumers are without electricity in the region.
Ukrenergo is forced to attract emergency help from the power systems of European countries throughout the day.
Today, during the day, electricity is imported from Romania, Slovakia, Hungary, and Moldova with a total volume of 7858 MWh, with a peak power of up to 1020 MW at certain times. No export planned.
It was previously known that three power units were turned off at Ukrainian power plants. They are released for scheduled and emergency repairs.
