The US may send military aid, including ATACMS missiles, to Ukraine next week.
US Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Mark Warner hopes that the Ukraine aid bill will be signed by the US President on Tuesday or Wednesday, which will trigger the delivery of long-range ATACMS missiles to Ukraine. He said this in an interview with CBS News on Sunday, April 21.
“I’m hopeful that as soon as this gets to the President on Tuesday or Wednesday, these longer-range ATACMS shipments will be … launched before the end of the week,” the senator said.
When asked if these are indeed a longer set of ATACMS, the senator replied: “I believe that the administration is ready in the last two months to prepare or provide the ATACMS that is stated in this law.”
We remind you that on April 20, the House of Representatives of the American Congress passed a bill to provide almost $61 billion in aid to Ukraine. Most of this huge amount will go to military support.
Congressmen also approved the seizure of Russian fixed assets. Ukraine can expect up to $8 billion.
The US military is reportedly ready to deploy long-range ATACMS missiles with a range of more than 180 miles (about 290 kilometers) to Ukraine.
