The speaker of the Ukrainian Navy, Captain 3rd Rank Dmitry Pletenchuk, announced this on his Facebook page.
The nature of the damage has been verified. But the ship is definitely not capable of carrying out the task now,” Pletenchuk emphasized. “This will be repeated until the Russians run out of ships or leave Crimea.”
Earlier today, a video appeared on social networks that likely shows a fire on one of the ships in the port of occupied Sevastopol.
The commune was launched back in 1915. The vessel is designed for deep-sea work, such as lifting submarines and sunken cargo. In particular, in 2022, it searched for the cruiser Moskva, which was destroyed by a Ukrainian missile attack. This is the only rescue ship of this class on the Black Sea.
