The Ukrainian Armed Forces received the L-39ZA Albatross light attack aircraft. It was delivered by truck disassembled. The military aid shipment was delivered on Saturday, April 20. The Lithuanian Ministry of Defense reported this on the social network X.
The department added that the Lithuanian military uses such aircraft to train fighter control officers to ensure the combat readiness of pilots.
As you know, the L-39ZA is a combat training aircraft based on the L-39C, which in fact can be used as a light attack aircraft. This aircraft is designed for a combat load of 1 thousand 100 kg, has four suspension units on which blocks for unguided rockets or aerial bombs can cling. The Albatross is armed with a 23-mm GSh-23L double-barreled aircraft gun with 150 rounds of ammunition.
Let us recall that in early April, Lithuanian Prime Minister Ingrida Simonyte announced the purchase of 3 thousand Lithuanian drones for Ukraine. The Lithuanian government will also allocate 15 million euros for rehabilitation programs for wounded Ukrainian soldiers.
