In the Ivano-Frankivsk region, law enforcement officers liquidated a gang whose members in military uniform robbed a man and took more than 8 million hryvnias from him. The National Police reported this on Friday, April 19.
“A group of people in camouflage stopped an Opel Astra car under the guise of checking the car, the defendants asked the driver to get out of the car more than 8 million hryvnias,” the report said.
It is known that the police were able to identify the people involved in the crime within a few hours. We are talking about four residents of the Carpathian region.
The defendants tried to burn the camouflage clothes in which they robbed someone, and drowned the car they were driving in the Dniester. After that, the attackers changed into civilian clothes and changed vehicles.
The 30-year-old and 29-year-old attackers were detained in a car as they were moving outside of Ivano-Frankivsk. They have been informed of suspicion under the article on theft committed on a large scale or by an organized group (Part 5 of Article 186 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). Now the attackers face up to 13 years behind bars.
It was previously reported that a gang led by a crime boss was detained in the Poltava region. Gang members “specialized” in extorting debts from citizens, burglarizing homes and stealing cars.
We remind you that the Security Service detained a deputy of the city council of Korostyshev of the Zhytomyr region, who is part of a criminal organization in the region. He and his gang kidnap people and extort money from them.
