Russian customs officials discovered nearly 700 kg of oysters and lobsters hidden in office furniture at the Belarusian border. The delicacies were delivered to selected restaurants in Moscow, the Mash Telegram channel reported on Friday, April 19.
It was noted that the truck with tools entered the Russian Federation through the Chervonaya Gorka region. Goods are hidden in compartments with office furniture. Customs officials calculated the “catch”: 637 kg of oysters, 16 kg of lobsters and 23 kg of royal herring. No veterinary documents or certificates.
A criminal case was initiated against the driver under the article Smuggling of Strategically Important Resources. He faces a fine of up to 1 million rubles or imprisonment for 5 years.
Earlier, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that China and other countries should stop exporting goods to Russia.
