Most likely, the opposition Law and Justice party will join the demonstration. The exact route of the march and protests remains a mystery to the organizers. Previous demonstrations ended at the Prime Minister’s Office and in front of the Seimas building.
Previously, large-scale protests in Poland took place on March 6 and 20.
Then, protests by farmers began in more than 500 places in Poland, in which, according to the organizers, 70 thousand farmers were supposed to take part. They blocked highways, city roads and border crossings from Ukraine and Germany.
Farmers are demanding restrictions on the import of Ukrainian agricultural goods and the Polish government has announced Poland’s withdrawal from the European Green Deal.
On April 18, Ukrainian border guards reported that Polish farmers had resumed blocking trucks at the Shegini-Medika and Korcheva-Krakovets checkpoints.
The Border Service reports that in the direction of “Krakovets” the movement of trucks towards Ukraine is blocked, and in the direction of “Shegini” – both exiting and entering Poland. Preliminarily, the first point is planned to be blocked until the morning (09:00) of April 20, and the second until the morning (09:00) of April 19.
The leader of the Polish cell of farmers “Podkarpackie deceived village” Roman Kondrów said that farmers will let one truck pass per hour, other vehicles will travel unhindered.
