The State Duma allows until the end of 2022 to import goods into Russia without the permission of copyright holders.
The State Duma of the Russian Federation adopted on second reading and in general a law on the possibility of importing goods into the country without the consent of the rights holders. This was reported on June 21 by the Interfax news agency.
It is learned that the document was submitted to the government in May. We are talking about original products that have been introduced into circulation abroad. The rule is only valid in 2022.
According to the adopted law, the use of the results of intellectual activity expressed in goods (groups of goods), the list of which is established by the government, is not a violation, and the use of means of individualization where such goods are marked is not a violation.
The law will take effect from the day of its official publication.
Earlier, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation approved an extensive list of goods that can be imported into the Russian Federation without the consent of the rights holders. The list includes perfumes, clothing and footwear, watches, furniture, paper, appliances, transportation, electronics, metal, and fuel.
It also includes products from many brands, especially: Apple and Samsung equipment, Chevrolet, Mitsubishi, Renault, Tesla, Toyota cars.
It will be recalled that after the military invasion of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, many foreign brands suspended the supply of their products in the country, or eliminated their business.
