Volyn customs officials, during an inspection of 76 foreign transactions in the capital’s business economy, discovered illegal supplies of 2 thousand tons of grain to the Czech Republic worth more than 20 million UAH. using forged documents. Reconciliation of shipping documents revealed facts of providing Ukrainian customs officials with false information about Czech buyers of goods using fake contracts and invoices.
Based on the results of the inspection, a protocol on violation of customs rules was drawn up. For this, a fine of 50–100% of the value of the grain is expected to be imposed. Volyn customs sent information about offenses to law enforcement agencies.
Let’s recall that Ukraine exported 34.86 million tons of grain and legumes in the 2023/2024 marketing year (from July 1, 2023 to April 1, 2024).
It was also reported that in Ukraine, car traffic with cargo of grain was re-directed from the western borders in the direction of the sea ports of Greater Odessa. At the same time, the volume of grain cargo transfers across borders with all neighboring countries without exception – Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, Romania – has decreased.
