A major attack, according to The Jerusalem Post, would not necessarily occur in the coming days and could be delayed for a longer time.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has decided how it will launch counterattacks against Iran and its allies, but it does not yet know exactly when it will happen. The Jerusalem Post reported this on Tuesday, April 16.
“Retaliatory options range from attacking Iran’s nuclear facilities to attacking drone or ballistic missile production facilities directly involved in the strike,” the material said.
In addition, options were considered to kill specific unnamed individuals along with their accomplices.
“It is also possible to mix or match all or part of the above options,” the publication wrote.
Journalists noted that the very fact of determining how to strike Iran shows “the seriousness and determination of the Israeli leadership, even as Jerusalem seeks to avoid turning the situation into a regional war.”
At the same time, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant emphasized that the Iranians have failed in their attack and cannot stop Israel.
“Every enemy that comes after us will be defeated, wherever he is,” the defense minister said.
As we have already written, on April 14, Iran launched a massive attack on Israel with missiles and drones in response to the recent airstrike on the Iranian embassy in Damascus.
The IDF subsequently reported that air defenses intercepted 99% of the more than 300 air targets fired by Iran.
In this regard, the Chief of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Mohammad Bagheri, called the operation “successful.”
