Brigadier General Gennady Shapovalov was appointed as the new commander of Operational Command South. He was introduced to the staff, OK South reported on Facebook on Tuesday, April 16.
It is indicated that Shapovalov was introduced to the staff of the commander of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Alexander Pavlyuk.
Shapovalov himself said that he accepted the new position with great gratitude for the powerful work of Andrei Kovalchuk, who was the former commander of OK South.
“The tasks we face require the participation of energy, experience, creativity and inspiration, but I am confident in our ability to work fruitfully and achieve our goals. With the joint work of a well-coordinated team, we will achieve great results, ” noted the general.
