Sunbathing lovers filled the beaches, and those who prefer picnics took to the slopes with barbecues much earlier than usual, said a Dumskaya correspondent who walked along the coast.
According to him, many are already swimming in the sea. The striped tapes that prevented people from approaching the water have disappeared somewhere, as have the “No Swimming” signs that everyone got used to during the 2022 and 2023 seasons.
Winter storms have damaged the Gold Coast promenade at 16 Grand Fountain Station, with sand washed out to sea at some beaches.
Director of the Odessa Coast Community Enterprise Dmitry Belyaev said that the mayor’s office and the military administration have not yet given permission to prepare for the swimming season.
The resumption of beaches and the delivery of sand is now impossible, because there is no order from the mayor to begin preparatory activities for the start of the beach season. The military command must also give permission for these measures, the official emphasized.
He also noted that all the work that is currently being carried out on the beaches is the initiative of the tenants.
With all this, preparations for the beach season are in full swing – the rotunda in Arcadia is being restored, the approaches to the sea are being concreted, and work on replacing the wooden flooring on slabs has almost been completed.
On the beaches of the Big Fountain, wooden platforms for sun loungers and tents are built on the sand.
