The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine called for preventing a larger regional conflict. Such actions are completely unacceptable, irresponsible and carry the risk of an unprecedented further escalation of the situation in the Middle East. This is stated in a statement published by the press service of the diplomatic department.
Ukrainian diplomats stated the need to make every effort to prevent “the confrontation from escalating into a larger regional conflict.”
This attack once again demonstrates the importance of mobilizing all the forces of the free world in defense of the global borders of democracy,” they said in Kyiv.
The European Union and European countries have already condemned Iran’s night attack against Israel.
EU chief diplomat Josep Borrell expressed strong condemnation of the attack on behalf of the European Union in the early hours of the attack and called it unacceptable. On the social network X, he said that this is an unprecedented escalation, which is a huge threat to security in the region.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said the attack was unjustified and very irresponsible. German Foreign Minister Annalena Bärbock called on Iranian forces to stop the escalation in the region.
French Foreign Minister Stephane Sejournet condemned the strikes and stressed that Iran, with such unprecedented actions, took the escalation to a new level.
Let us recall that on the night of April 14, Iran fired hundreds of drones and missiles at Israel. The air attack lasted about five hours. The Israeli Air Force intercepted Iranian drones over Jordan and Syria. US air defense systems in the Middle East also worked against air targets. As a result of the attack on Israel, 31 people were injured, and minor damage was recorded at one of the military bases.
