The detainees turned out to be members of a community that engages in the extreme rental of motocross motorcycles and ATVs.
Border guards of the Mukachevo detachment detained four Polish citizens who illegally crossed Ukraine’s border with Hungary using ATVs. The State Border Service of Ukraine reported this on Sunday, April 14.
“The violators, who crossed the border from Hungary to Ukraine outside the checkpoints with three ATVs and a motorcycle, were identified using a bispectral camera. A response team immediately set out to stop them,” said of the report.
Border guards learned that those detained were members of a community that engaged in heavy cross-country motorcycle and ATV rentals. They cover the route from Krakow to Istanbul in support of the “2222 km” campaign – they cover 300 km every day, mostly off-road.
“Due to communication problems, foreigners got lost, lost their movements on land and did not notice how they ended up on the territory of Ukraine,” added the State Border Service.
Administrative protocols are made against foreigners for illegal border crossing. They will soon be returned to Hungary through readmission.
Earlier, Red Cross “volunteers” with false documents were detained at the border. Five men told border guards they were “going for humanitarian aid” to Romania, but the documents turned out to be forged.
The defectors tried to leave Ukraine by wearing military uniforms
