The document will be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada in the coming months. Legislators are working on it together with the Ministry of Defense and representatives of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Some developments already exist. The speaker of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Dmitry Lazutkin, announced this on April 12 during a telethon.
It is clear that this topic is both important and sensitive for society. It is clear that now people who are on the line of combat need to be given a break, at the same time, it is necessary to replace people with combat experience, weighing many points, including their need to be replaced by trained fighters,” he noted.
Lazutkin also commented on the information that this draft law will be ready in eight months. He noted that the timing could change and it would likely happen faster.
Let us remind you that on April 11, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the bill on mobilization as a whole – it was supported by 283 people’s deputies out of 226 required. Now men from 25 years of age are subject to biobilization.
The provision on demobilization of military personnel after 36 months of service, which was in the first version of the bill, disappeared the day before consideration. The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Syrsky, insisted on this.
