Missiles for such air defense systems as the American Patriot and the German Iris-T have not yet been exhausted in Ukraine, but the Ukrainian Armed Forces are experiencing critical ammunition shortages. They must be in short supply. This is what Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Mikhail Podolyak said in a commentary to The Guardian published on Saturday, April 13.
Russia is using a new tactic to attack power plants with “up to 10 or 12 missiles at a time,” bypassing Patriot missile shields and other missile defense systems.
“The system is overloaded. Now we need to understand if we can maintain the system, if we need additional air defense systems, especially against ultrasonic ballistic missiles, and if we can restore the damaged facilities,” explained the official
The West needs to understand that Russia is “waging war against the civilian population,” Podolyak said. He also complained about the lack of condemnation from the international community.
“The Russians completely destroyed one of the biggest thermal power plants in Europe But we don’t see any UN Security Council resolutions or any other similar statements,” he emphasized.
As we have already written, Julian Repke, a journalist for the German publication Bild, said that Ukraine has run out of missiles for the Patriot and Iris-T anti-aircraft air defense systems.
The Air Force responded to media information about the “lack of air defense missiles”
