The corresponding decision, which will allow financing the purchase of electronic warfare, was made by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on April 12. Currently, authorities are focusing on three areas in the energy sector amid constant Russian missile and drone attacks. Prime Minister Denis Shmigal stated this while speaking at a meeting of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities.
Among the priorities are rapid repairs and restoration of generation and distribution facilities and strengthening of air defense. The third direction is the decentralization of the energy system (120 mini-CHPs have already been installed in Ukraine).
Shmigal also added that the Cabinet of Ministers has additionally allocated another 3.88 billion UAH. for fortification and 2.5 billion UAH. for the construction and arrangement of shelters in 2024. At the same time, the budget provides for more than 40 billion UAH. to support and restore the economy.
Let us recall that on April 11, a massive Russian missile attack completely destroyed the Trypilska Thermal Power Plant in the Kyiv region. Currently, JSC Centerenergo has lost 100% of its generation.
Prior to this, on March 22, 2024, the invaders completely destroyed the Zmievskaya Thermal Power Plant in the Kharkov region, and on July 25, 2022, the enemy struck the Uglegorskaya Thermal Power Plant in the Donetsk region.
