Marjorie Taylor Greene is asking the Speaker of Congress not to introduce the Ukraine aid bill. However, they failed to agree.
Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, who previously initiated the resignation of US Congress Speaker Mike Johnson, said that they met on Wednesday, April 10. According to Green, they could not reach an agreement on some political issues, especially aid to Ukraine, reports The HILL.
It was noted that bringing the military aid bill to Ukraine to a vote was one of the reasons for Greene’s threats to remove Johnson from the speakership.
“We disagreed,” said Greene, who, like Johnson, is rooting for former President Donald Trump.
Greene said he reiterated his call for the speaker to end US funding for Ukraine.
“We are not responsible for the war in Ukraine. We are responsible for the war on the border of the United States. The border of the United States is the only border that matters. And if he continues to fund Ukraine, he will be personally responsible for financing the killing of people in other countries.” which is not our ally in NATO,” she said.
Greene said Johnson has not given him an answer on how he plans to move forward on the Ukraine aid issue.
Let’s remember that on March 22, Greene filed a resolution to remove Speaker Mike Johnson. His decision was criticized by other Republicans as threatening to split the warring Republican Party ahead of the election.
Johnson reportedly said Wednesday that discussions are still ongoing with congressmen about the format of a future military aid package to Ukraine.
