Military experts believe the attack could now intensify in the Kharkiv region, as the enemy can now use the crossing as an alternative to the destroyed bridge.
The Russian military has completed the construction of a pontoon crossing the Oskol River near the temporarily occupied village of Kupyansk-Uzlovaya in the Kharkiv region and it is available. This is confirmed by a satellite image dated June 19, which is at the disposal of Schemes (Radio Liberty).
Military experts concluded that active construction and installation had been completed. Now the occupiers can use the crossing as an alternative to the destroyed bridge.
Journalists checked satellite images of this territory for other dates. As of May 26, construction work has not been recorded. The first signs appeared on May 30 and 31. The satellite recorded the process of forming a pontoon crossing on June 3.
Also earlier, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that in the Kharkiv region, the enemy “is intensively restoring transport infrastructure and carrying out pontoon-railway crossings on rivers in the temporarily occupied territories. . “
Kupyansk-Uzlovoi is under the city of Kupyansk. According to the Liveuamap map, the village has been occupied by the Russian army since March 2nd.
Recall that the Russian military seized the city of Kupyansk in the early days of Russia’s massive invasion of Ukraine. On February 27, Mayor Gennady Matsegora said he talked to the Russian army military and handed the city over to them, allegedly because of the threat of armed attack. Subsequently, the SBU informed him of the suspicion and opened criminal proceedings against him. As stated in the SBU message, he was charged with articles of “high treason” and “encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine.”
