Pharrell Williams Pays NAACP Youth Leaders Student Debt –

Musician and music producer Farrell Williams on Friday shocked five NAACP youth leaders and announced he was paying off their student debt.

He announced the gift during the black student debt crisis panel hosted by the NAACP in Washington, DC

The “happy” singer is hosting the Something in the Water Music Festival in Washington over the June holiday weekend.

Wisdom Cole, National Director of Youth and NAACP College, called the gift a “strong” gesture.

“Farrell changed their lives forever. It was a powerful moment, “Cole told ABC branch WJLA-TV.” Imagine if President Biden made it a reality for all students. “Student debt continues to plague the black community and destroys opportunities for so many blacks.”

Biden is considering forgiving some type of federal student loan and is likely to announce it in the coming months.
