Kazakh authorities need to improve the process of releasing water from the reservoir, Putin’s spokesman said.
Kazakhstan must be more “consistent” in releasing water into its reservoir system so that Russia can avoid floods in the Kurgan and Tyumen regions. This was stated by the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Ural Federal District, Vladimir Yakushev, RosSMI writes.
“When we have winters like this and when we have a relatively large amount of snow, and a relatively large supply of water accumulates in the reservoir, then we have something to fix in this regard with our colleagues from Kazakhstan so that the release of this water from the reservoirs is more coordinated, correct and more equal,” he said.
According to Putin’s spokesman, in the future, by regulating the discharges in Kazakhstan, flood problems will be avoided in some areas. Right now, the people of Kurgan are preparing for the “big water.”
“According to preliminary estimates, this is a historical maximum. Therefore, places where there is reason to believe that the height of the dam is insufficient are being filled,” said Yakushev.
At the same time, the head of the Kremlin does not guarantee that the measures will 100% help in dealing with the disaster. After dealing with the emergency situation in the Kurgan region, rescuers will be sent to the Tyumen region, where floods are also expected.
We remind you that on April 5, a dam exploded in the Russian Orsk, Orenburg region. The city and surrounding villages were flooded, and the evacuation of the population began. Local authorities have declared a state of emergency. Subsequently, it became known that another river was overflowing its banks in Orsk.
