Ukrainian armed forces in temporarily occupied Crimea destroyed the Russian Ka-27 ship-borne anti-submarine helicopter. This was announced by the spokesman of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Dmitry Pletenchuk on Facebook on Wednesday, April 10.
“Minus the Russian Ka-27 in Crimea. I was looking for something. I found it,” he wrote, without giving details.
The Ka-27 is designed to detect, track and destroy submarines. The helicopter can perform tactical missions individually or as part of a group. The helicopter can operate both from a coastal airfield and from a ship.
According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, since the start of the all-out war against Ukraine, the Russian army has already lost 325 helicopters, as well as 347 aircraft and 9,070 drones.
