German Chancellor Olaf Scholz will make a four-day visit to China next week.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz will meet with Xi Jinping as part of a four-day visit to China and discuss with the Chinese leader Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine. This was announced on Monday, April 8, by German government spokesman Steffen Gebestreit, Bloomberg wrote.
Scholz is said to arrive in Chongqing on April 14 and visit a hydrogen plant operated by a German company, and the next day will travel to Shanghai, where he will give a speech at a university.
The chancellor’s meeting with Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang and Xi Jinping will take place at the end of the visit, on April 16.
“The agenda of the negotiations, among other things, will include a full-scale war between Russia and Ukraine. I think that China has influence on the Russian Federation, and we want Beijing to use this influence, ” said Gebestreit.
Bloomberg added that this is Scholz’s second visit to China.
We remind you that Germany will give 576 million euros to the initiative of the Czech Republic to buy artillery ammunition for Ukraine, which will cover the cost of 180 thousand shells.
