On the night of April 8, an enemy UAV attacked a UAV on the equipment of a high-voltage substation in the Zaporozhye region. Equipment damage was recorded there. Also yesterday, due to shelling, a high-voltage overhead line in the Kharkov region was switched off, as a result of which the substation supplying household consumers in Kharkov was temporarily de-energized. Ukrenergo reported this on Facebook.
In addition, as a result of the fighting, two high-voltage lines in the Dnepropetrovsk region were simultaneously switched off.
The Ministry of Energy added that during April 7, due to network restrictions, shutdown schedules were applied in the Kharkiv region. This morning, shutdown schedules were in effect in the Kharkov region. Local restrictions on electricity consumption in the Krivoy Rog region are also recorded. At the same time, there is no electricity shortage in the unified energy system of Ukraine.
Yesterday afternoon, due to sunny weather and, accordingly, the active generation of electricity by SES, the transmission system operator limited the production of electricity from renewable energy sources to a total value of 14 thousand 243 MWh, the department noted.
Let us recall that the Financial Times reported that the Russians used a new tactic of attacks on the Ukrainian energy sector – they focused on attacks with high-precision missiles. Thus, during March 22-29, the enemy attacked seven thermal power plants, as well as two hydroelectric power plants in less protected regions than Kyiv. Some of them may not be able to be restored until next winter.
