A fire on a ship at the Dalzavod Ship Repair Center in Vladivostok occurred on the night of April 8. One person was burned in the fire, and three more people were hospitalized. The fire was subsequently extinguished. Now security forces are trying to establish the circumstances of the fire. The Far Eastern Transport Prosecutor’s Office reported this on Telegram.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Primorsky Territory added that by the time firefighters arrived, smoke was coming from the stern of the ship, and there was smoke in the holds. The fire damaged the technological room on an area of about 50 square meters. m.
As is known, the vessel “Ekaterina Velikaya” belongs to the IBSV 10022 AH project. The ship is 106 m long and 22 m wide. It can overcome ice 1.5 m thick.
This ship is the main one in a series of four ships for the oil company Rosneft. Enemy propaganda called the vessel “unique” because it could both deliver cargo, including offshore drilling rigs and production platforms, and conduct icebreaking operations. The Russian dictatorship was proud of this ship, launched in December 2020.
