Lithuania proposes to dismantle its closed thermal power plants for spare parts for the Ukrainian energy system. Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galushchenko said this on Sunday, April 7, at a telethon.
“There was a small conversation with the Ministry of Energy of Lithuania. In general they proposed the use of their thermal stations, which are closed. Using them as donors, that is, the opportunity to disassemble and get the spare parts we need,” said Galushchenko.
He added that other countries are also helping Ukraine cope with the consequences of Russia’s attack on energy. At the same time, according to the minister, the best defense is to strengthen the air defense system of Ukraine.
We remind you that since March 22, the Russians have carried out several powerful waves of missile and drone attacks. The enemy destroyed a large number of power units of thermal power plants and also disabled the Dnieper Hydroelectric Power Station.
The most difficult situation was in Kharkov, where all generating capacities were destroyed. Energy workers are trying to provide a city with millions with the help of backup schemes.
