President Vladimir Zelensky stated this in an interview with the telethon:
A large number of options are being considered. There was a senator recently. And he says: Will you agree to the loan money? If the money is on credit, or will you not receive it? I say: “Why these elections if there is no choice?” We will agree to any option. I’ll tell you more, if you offered Ukraine a package on credit today, or everything for free in a year, then we would only say today. There is no choice here. Our choice is to survive and win. We try to do this in different ways.
The President of Ukraine said that Kyiv is ready to accept any option for military support from the United States, in particular, the purchase of weapons on credit. The United States remains Ukraine’s most important ally, but arms assistance is currently on hold due to an internal political dispute between Democrats and Republicans.
At the same time, the President of Ukraine said that the country needs only 25 Patriot air defense systems to protect its airspace from Russian missiles and drones.
All our partners know this very well, they even know the points where the corresponding systems should be placed,” Zelensky said.
He also noted that Ukraine faces an ammunition shortage if Russia intensifies its air attacks.
If they [російські війська] will continue to strike, as they did last month, we may run out of missiles, and our partners know this too,” Zelensky added.
Let us recall that the possibility of providing loan assistance was previously announced by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Republican Mike Johnson. Congressmen return from vacation on April 9, after which, as Johnson previously promised, issues of assistance to Ukraine will be brought to the House of Representatives. However, the exact date and content of what Johnson will deliver is still unknown. This could be the law passed in the Senate in February, which talks about more than 60 billion dollars. assistance to Kyiv.
