Vladimir Zelensky stated this on April 7 in the president’s daily address to Ukrainians.
The situation in the city is very tough, there is constant Russian terror. The world must hear the pain that the Russians cause to Kharkov, Kupyansk, the cities of Donbass, Zaporozhye, Sumy region and other communities. There are air defense systems in the world that can help. All we need is political will for these systems to be transferred to Ukraine,” he said.
The president also said today that Ukraine is preparing a “very specific and fair” response to attacks on Kharkov and the eastern regions.
Zelensky believes that only political will is needed for air defense systems to be transferred to Ukraine.
Now the place for “patriots” is in Ukraine, so that later they will not have to be used at least along the entire eastern flank of NATO. Zelensky previously said that to protect Ukraine, 25 Patriot systems are now needed, with six to eight batteries in each.
All our partners are already well aware of this and even know the point where the corresponding systems should be installed. There are several analogues in the world, they also work very well,” the president said in an interview with the telethon on April 6.
According to the president, our country now has a supply of missiles for air defense, but with such a high intensity of shelling in a month, it may not be enough.
There are times when only Patriot or an equivalent can work. And here we have to choose – which object to protect, this city or another city,” he said.
Against the backdrop of intensifying Russian missile terror, Ukraine appealed to its allies to help strengthen its air defense capabilities. NATO countries plan to review their stockpiles in order to provide Ukraine with air defense systems as quickly as possible. Germany coordinates the search for the required complexes. Estonia has already agreed to give its Patriots to Ukraine.
