Near the occupied Krynki in the Kherson region, Russian occupiers shot Ukrainian prisoners of war. This was reported by the press service of the Office of the Prosecutor General on Sunday, April 7.
“On April 7, 2024, a video recording was published on one of the Telegram channels, which recorded how the Russian military shot three captive Ukrainian military personnel. The video shows that how a representative of the Russian Armed Forces fired several shots at unarmed stationary military personnel, probably from a machine gun,” it said in the message.
The description under the video indicates that the event took place near Krynoki, Oleshkovo community, Kherson region.
A pre-trial investigation was launched into violations of the laws and customs of war, including premeditated murder.
The Office of the Prosecutor General added that the representatives of the aggressor countries are again paying attention to the provisions of the Geneva Convention on the Treatment of Prisoners of War, which indicate the support of such actions by the high command of the Russian Armed Forces.
We remind you that on February 24, in the Bakhmut district, the Russians shot a group of Ukrainian prisoners of war.
As of March, Ukrainian law enforcement officials have documented and are investigating 45 cases of murders of prisoners of war during 19 criminal trials. However, this figure is not final.
