The IDF ended the active ground offensive in the southern part of the sector. Only one army brigade remained in the area.

The IDF ended the active ground offensive and withdrew from the southern Gaza Strip. This was reported by The Jerusalem Post on April 7.

It is understood that only one Israeli army brigade remains on site, whose task is to secure the corridor connecting southern Israel to the coastal Gaza Strip.

The withdrawal comes four months after fighting began in the Khan Yunis area and six months after Hamas attacked Israel.

At the same time, the IDF is holding off northern and central Gaza from the south.

Let’s remember that on October 7, 2023, Hamas militants carried out a massive rocket attack on Israel and entered its territory. In response, the Israeli army announced the start of Operation Iron Swords in the Gaza Strip.

Since the start of the war in Gaza, 600 soldiers have been killed – IDF
