In the Orenburg region of the Russian Federation, due to an abnormal flood, a federal emergency was introduced, and the operation of the oil refinery in Orsk was suspended. Interfax reported this on April 7.
It was noted that the decision to close the refinery was made to avoid environmental hazards. RosSMI wrote that the water ended up somewhere several kilometers from the plant. Moreover, his work is impossible because the railway tracks in the city are flooded.
The head of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, Alexander Kurenkov, emphasized that the flooding situation in Orsk is critical.
As a result of the destruction of protective structures on the Ural River, 4,518 residential buildings and 4,587 household plots were flooded.
We remind you that on April 5, a protective embankment built in 2010 in Orsk was damaged.
Since April 4, a regional emergency regime has been implemented in the Orenburg region due to the worsening flood situation.
