The head of the House Foreign Affairs Committee from the Republican Party said that many American media outlets are repeating Russian propaganda narratives.
US Republican Congressman Michael McCaul said Russian propaganda had “infected much of the structure” of his party. He said this in an interview with Puck News, reported on Saturday, April 6, by The Washington Post.
The congressman suggested that the conservative media was to blame.
“There are some other late night entertainment shows that seem to be spewing what I think is Russian propaganda – and it’s very similar to [потому, что говорят в росСМИ] on our air,” McCall said.
He cited as an example “people who read various publications dedicated to conspiracy theories that are not true, and they are actually modeling Russian propaganda.” When asked which Republicans he was talking about, McCaul replied “obviously,” after which the interview was off the record.
Let’s remember that earlier the American media said that the Republican Party has a “Putin wing.”
