The entire old city is under threat of flooding. At least two deaths are now known, but the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations is checking information about a third victim. One of the Russians climbed onto the roof, fell and died. Another body was found in the courtyard of one of the houses on Ordzhonikidze Street. The Russian Telegram channel Baza writes about this.
According to the mayor of Orsk Vasily Kozupitsa, on the morning of April 6, the water level in the Ural River became critical and amounted to 9.27 m. At the same time, Russians will have to suffer here for a long time – experts say that the water will subside in about two weeks.
Local authorities had to evacuate 235 people. Currently, about 2 thousand houses in 95 settlements are flooded in the region.
Already half of the Old Town is flooded almost up to Ordzhonikidze Street… Apparently, the Old Town will suffer very seriously,” Kozupitsa said.
Let us remind you that in the Russian Orsk in the Orenburg region on April 5, a dam broke. The water was rising at high speed, and the Russians are trying in vain to eliminate the breach. Thousands of homes are under threat.
