In Orsk, Orenburg region of the Russian Federation, the dam of the Ural River was damaged due to flooding – the evacuation of the population from the zone of possible flooding began. Russian media reported this on Friday, April 5.
It was noted that as a result of the breakthrough, the flooding could reach up to 4,000 private residential buildings, where up to 10,000 people live.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation is evacuating residents from the area of possible flooding to temporary accommodation centers. Work is underway to strengthen the dam and remove the gust of wind.
Earlier, more than 3,000 residents of the Orenburg region were evacuated due to flooding, including 721 children.
On April 5, 1,825 residential buildings and 5,242 household plots in 95 settlements were flooded in the region. A state of emergency is in effect in the Orenburg region.
It was previously reported that high water levels remain in the rivers of the Chernihiv region. Roads may be flooded.
