In Africa, Ukrainians had to, in addition to fighting, also engage in mining.
The Russian private military company Wagner began a large-scale recruitment of Ukrainians in the temporarily occupied territories for the war in Africa. The Center for National Resistance reported this on Friday, April 5.
We are talking about men aged 22 to 50 years. They were promised salaries of 240 thousand rubles, subject to a six-month contract. In Africa, captives had to, in addition to fighting, also engage in mining.
CNS recalls that “Wagnerites” appeared in Africa in 2017. They justify their presence there by wanting to “fight American influences” on the continent.
“Russia is known for its constant wars with many countries of the world and for the fact that it does not hesitate to violate international humanitarian law, which does not allow the recruitment of the local population into militaristic associations,” the Center added.
Let’s remember that, according to the Main Intelligence Directorate, Russia is forming detachments of so-called military instructors for further dispatch to African countries in order to expand influence in this territory.
Human rights activists say Wagner members are helping Malian troops carry out attacks and drone attacks, leading to the deaths of dozens of civilians.
