Over the past week, three Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups tried to enter the Sumy region. However, these attempts were stopped by Ukrainian border guards. The head of the Sumy regional military administration, Vladimir Artyukh, announced this on April 3 during a national telethon.
According to him, during 2023, 52 sabotage and reconnaissance groups from the aggressor country were detained on the approaches to Ukraine.
Artyukh also spoke about the situation in the region. The head of the OVA emphasized that now the greatest damage is caused by guided missiles. Since the beginning of the year, Russian aircraft have carried out 412 attacks with guided bombs. However, the enemy no longer dropped one and a half ton bombs on the Sumy region.
Also, in some areas, evacuation continues, since the beginning of which more than 11.5 thousand people have been taken from the border areas of the Sumy region to safer places, among them more than 1 thousand 700 children.
Let us recall that the State Border Service reported in March that in the Sumy region enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups tried to break through into Ukraine, but they were prevented by members of the defense forces. They opened fire on the enemies to kill.
