This was reported by The New Tork Times, citing its own sources.
And while officials have not said how many have been produced overall, the increase in production signals a potential boom in domestic weapons production in the country, the newspaper notes.
It is noted that at the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, Ukraine had only one Bogdan self-propelled gun.
However, this is the only weapon created in Ukraine in 2018… proved so effective in the early days of the war that it was trucked to battle sites across the country, from the northeastern city of Kharkov to the southwestern Black Sea coast and points in between. – notes the publication.
The New York Times also reviewed Ukrainian government documents showing that in the past year alone, Ukrainian defense companies have built three times more armored vehicles than they produced before the war and quadrupled the production of anti-tank missiles.
