In the Kharkov region, the SBU, during a special operation, detained a family of traitors who wanted to blow up the railway trains of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The SBU press center reported this today, April 3.
It is noted that the attackers were reconnaissance of the routes of military echelons of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Liman direction:
- most of all they were interested in “vulnerable” areas of movement of rolling stock, for example, railway bridges, overpasses and road tunnels under the tracks;
- They also established the coordinates of relay cabinets and transformer substations of Ukrzaliznytsia.
Agents must transfer the information received to their Russian curator in the form of geolocations of critical infrastructure on Google maps.
Based on this information, the invaders planned to commit sabotage on the railway line while a Ukrainian Armed Forces cargo train was moving. Thus, the occupiers hoped to disrupt the uninterrupted supply of Ukrainian weapons and ammunition to the front lines of the eastern front, the SBU noted.
However, the entire intelligence group was exposed at the initial stage of its intelligence activity, after which their actions were documented “step by step.” The attackers were detained while collecting intelligence for the invaders.
According to the investigation, the traitors turned out to be a brother and sister who worked together in a communal establishment in the Izyum district. In the summer of 2023, they came to the attention of a career employee of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces (known as the game) through anti-Ukrainian messages in pro-Kremlin Telegram channels. The SBU has already established the identity of their curator.
During the searches, the detainees’ mobile phones, which they used to communicate with the Russian game, were confiscated, the SBU notes.
The persons involved were informed of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 28 and part 2 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code (state treason committed under martial law by prior conspiracy by a group of persons). They face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
