The Astrakhan gas processing plant has stopped processing raw materials and producing commercial gasoline and diesel fuel.
The emergency of the Astrakhan Gas Processing Plant (GPP) stopped the production of petroleum products after repairs the previous day. The main condensate processing installation was temporarily suspended on March 30 to repair the process pipeline at the Astrakhan gas processing plant. On April 1, it was learned that the repairs had been completed. This was reported by Reuters news agency.
The Russian Astrakhan gas processing plant stopped processing raw materials and producing commercial gasoline and diesel fuel on March 31 due to unexpected maintenance.
“Although the plant’s capacity is not critical for Russia, its closure is likely to raise concerns in Moscow about large-scale delays in oil refinery operations due to attacks from Ukrainian drones,” the media note.
The two businessmen confirmed that, according to St. Petersburg International Commodity Exchange, sales of diesel fuel and gasoline from the plant were suspended due to an unexpected stoppage in the production of petroleum products.
The media said that in 2023 the plant will produce 703 thousand tons of fuel, which is 1.6% of the total volume of Russia, as well as 492,000 tons of diesel fuel (0.6%) and 299,000 tons of oil fuel (0.7%) .
We remind you that the United Nations has declared that they oppose drone strikes “on civilian targets”, commenting on the attack on an oil refinery and a plant for the production of suicide bombs.
As you know, the night “bavovna” at the refinery was a joint operation of the SBU and the Main Intelligence Directorate. A Ukrainian long-range drone hit a primary oil processing unit at a refinery in Nizhnekamsk, then a fire broke out there. Drones also attacked the plant where Shaheds gather in Yelabuga (Tatarstan).
