In 2023, the expenses of Ukrainians in Poland will reach 7.1 billion zlotys (1.65 billion euros). It was 1.6 billion zlotys, or 31%, more than a year ago. This is confirmed by the latest data from the Polish Main Statistical Office, bankier.pl reports.
It is noted that the numbers are approaching the costs of Ukrainians during the pandemic. In 2016 – 2019, Ukrainians left an average of 7.5 billion zlotys (1.75 billion euros) in Poland. In 2020, the amount of expenses of Ukrainians reached 2.6 billion zlotys, in 2021 – 2.9 billion zlotys, in 2022 – 5.4 billion zlotys.
According to labor market expert Krzysztof Inglot, such costs of Ukrainians in Poland in 2023 are expected.
“Now in the ZUS registers (Social Insurance Administration – edit.) 755 thousand citizens of Ukraine. This indicates their active participation in the Polish labor market, which is also reflected in costs,” he said.

In the fourth quarter of 2023, the most money in Poland was spent by people crossing the border with Germany (47.1%), Ukraine (21.9%), the Czech Republic (14.2%), and Slovakia (8.6%).
