The defenders managed to shoot down the enemy UAV in the Eastern direction. The soldiers of one of the units of the Ground Forces did an excellent job. To destroy the enemy drone, they used the Strela-10 anti-aircraft missile system. The commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Pavlyuk, announced this on April 2 in Telegram.
As you know, Orlan-10 is an unmanned aerial system designed to monitor objects in hard-to-reach areas. The drone was developed in St. Petersburg.
This UAV is considered the most common and effective drone in the Russian army because it can adjust artillery fire in real time. It also illuminates objects with lasers for guided projectiles. That is why these drones are the most important targets for the Ukrainian army.
Let us recall that in February, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky ordered the military to “blind” the Russian Orlan and ZALA reconnaissance drones, which the enemy uses for artillery strikes and kamikaze drones.
