Russia attacked Ukraine for the first time with a heavy aerial bomb ODAB-1500. The Russians dropped a bomb on the village of Bolshaya Pisarevka in the Sumy region. After this impact, a cloud of smoke one kilometer high rose into the sky. This is reported by the Russian-language edition of the German publication BILD on its Telegram channel.

The publication’s expert Julian Repke said the use of a 1.5-ton bomb in a crowded area was “a new low in Russia’s war against Ukrainian cities.”

A volume detonating aircraft bomb (as the abbreviation ODAB stands for) is a thermobaric projectile from the times of the USSR, which approximately 10 meters before the target emits a flammable mixture in the form of an aerosol and ignites it. After that, a volumetric explosion occurs.

This type of bullet has more destructive power than classic bullets. Earlier conquerors used ODAB from 170 to 500 kilos.

We remind you that Ukraine can counter Russia’s new UMPB D-30 ammunition. In particular, the most effective way is to destroy the bomb carrier, that is, an aircraft or launcher.
