In Romania, fragments of a drone were again found near the border with Ukraine. It was a Russian drone that was supposed to attack Ukrainian ports on the Danube and, most likely, its GPS guidance system had failed. Local law enforcement is investigating the incident.

An official statement from the Romanian Ministry of Defense said it was investigating debris “that appears to come from an aerial device (drone) found on farmland in Insula Mare and Brailea on March 28, 2024.”
Bucharest did not say what kind of UAV it was or who it might belong to, but the report comes amid massive aerial bombing of Ukraine against Russia using various types of missiles and drones.
Romania last year issued official reservations to Moscow, reporting incidents on Romanian territory as a result of Russian bombing of Ukrainian targets at the mouth of the Danube.
NATO has mutual defense obligations if one of its members is attacked. But the Atlantic Alliance and Romanian officials said after similar incidents in the past that they had found no evidence of a deliberate attack on Romania, Reuters writes.
