A city council deputy from the Chernihiv region will stand trial for evasion of military service duties and fraud. The SBI press service reported this on Friday, March 29. The indictment has already been submitted to the court.
It was reported that the employees of the State Bureau of Investigation completed a pre-trial investigation against a deputy of the Semenovsky City Council of the Chernihiv region, who, after mobilization, avoided military service with the help of the head of the unit.
“It was established that the deputy was mobilized after the start of the Russian invasion, but for five months he did not actually perform military service duties. His immediate superior did not respond to the absence of a subordinate serviceman and , on the other hand, it is recorded in the official documentation that he allegedly serves the border guards “At the same time, the deputy illegally received military allowances and special allowances of more than 157,000 Hryvnia, ” said the report.
The deputy faces up to 10 years in prison.
It was also reported that the materials of the pre-trial investigation against the chief that covered up the criminal actions of the deputy were separated into separate proceedings, which were also completed and submitted to the court.
The officer was accused of official substitution, abuse of official position and conspiracy in the criminal offense of evasion of military service. This defendant also faces up to 10 years in prison.
