As part of the Czech initiative, Ukraine will not receive 800 thousand bullets, as previously planned, but one million.
Participants in the Czech initiative to buy ammunition for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have signed an agreement under which Ukraine will receive one million artillery shells, reports Corriere della Sera.
Initially, it was planned to buy 800 thousand shells: 500 thousand 155 mm caliber and another 300 thousand – 122 mm. However, Czech officials discovered an additional 200 thousand shells.
“It is not known which businesses have been targeted, although rumors point to South Korea, Turkey and possibly South Africa, among others,” the statement said.
Ukraine will receive the first batches of promised ammunition not in June, as the Czech government previously said, but most likely in April.
In total, 15 countries joined the Czech initiative, including Germany, France, and the Netherlands. However, not all of them publicly announced how much they contributed to the purchase of shells.
Meanwhile, in the Czech Republic they give a different figure. So, two days earlier, Prime Minister Petr Fiala announced that 20 countries joined the Czech initiative to find and buy artillery ammunition for Ukraine.
