The Hamburg prosecutor’s office states that the perpetrators knew that Siemens equipment would soon reach the occupied peninsula.
Four German citizens and one person with French and Swiss citizenship have been charged by the Hamburg prosecutor’s office in connection with the export of Siemens gas turbines to Russian-occupied Crimea. Reuters writes about it.
The individuals knew that the final destination was the power plants in Crimea, and despite this, they helped export gas turbines with a total value of 111 million euros from the port of Hamburg to St. Petersburg, the indictment said.
One of the suspects continues to work at Siemens.
We remind you that the Swiss Prosecutor General has opened criminal proceedings for violation of the sanctions regime against Russia by an unnamed company.
In addition, the number of sanctioned individuals and companies in the Russian Federation exceeds 6,000. At the same time, Western countries increasingly began to impose sanctions against companies from third countries suspected of violating strict measures against the Russian Federation.
The EP supported the increase of penalties for the evasion of sanctions
