The Chargé d’Affaires of the Russian Embassy Oleg Zykov was summoned to the Latvian Foreign Ministry, where he was protested in connection with unacceptable and provocative public communication.

The Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs declared the Russian diplomat persona non grata. European Pravda writes about this, citing the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“On March 27, 2024, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Russian Embassy Oleg Zykov was summoned to the Latvian Foreign Ministry, where he expressed the strongest protest… related to unacceptable and provocative public communication carried out by the embassy. for a long period of time, which is very contrary to the letter and spirit of the Vienna Convention…” the message said.

It was noted that despite repeated protests from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Russian Embassy continues activities aimed at discrediting Latvian state institutions and authorities and inciting hatred in Latvian society.

It was recently reported that Austria has declared two diplomats from the Russian Federation persona non grata. The country’s Foreign Ministry made this decision after material appeared in local media about their involvement with Russian intelligence.
